Cynthia on a birthday cake - Challenge 75

Here is my latest project which I have made for the OSAAT challenge this week. The challenge is Anything goes so come over and join in the fun, you also have a chance to see your creations in print this month if you join in with our challenges, see further down this post for details or on my side bar.

I was lucky to be sent this beautiful image from our lovely sponsor - The Stamping Boutique to play with this week.

I have made the base card following a template from Sheila Weaver on Joanna Sheen's website, its called a three panel card and was quite easy to make, template can be found Here

The backing papers I have used (white base with burgundy butterflies and burgundy base with white flowers on it) are from a 12 x 12 paper pad from Papermania designed by Claire Curd which I have had in my stash for ages.

The lovely image is called Cynthia on a birthday cake which I have coloured in with Copics, I have also glittered her wings and added a gem on the flower in her hair and glittered on the cake icing which I matted onto burgundy DP and then stuck to the front panel.

I then flipped the image in Word and printed it out and coloured in with the same colours and added glitter on the wings and a gem in the hair and mat and layered onto DP and stuck to the third panel. I have also added two Prima Esprit flowers with a burgundy gem in the centre onto the front and third panel.

I then cut a message panel and some backing paper to mat the message panel onto with my nesties, then cut 2 different butterflies with my spellbinders butterflies die and added clear gems to their wings and their heads.

A treat within a card from me today

Here is the project I have made for our challenge this week over at One stitch at a time The challenge this week is to use a digi image.

I have used an image called Birthday Boy which can be bought Here at Stitchy Stamps

I started to make a surprise pop up card (also known as a slider card) as normal. If you don't know how to make one of these there is a tutorial Here.

I have adapted it to make a 17cm by 14cm card but also wanted to adapt it to incorporate some Werthers butter candies so cut the inside of the second layer frame out with a craft knife and then made a box base and attached this under the slider card mechanism so instead of getting a message shown as you pull the ribbon upwards you can get to the sweets underneath. I then just added a piece of card measuring 17 x 14cm to the base of the box so it can be stood upright if so wished.

I coloured the image in with promarkers, added How Old !! in silver peel offs and edged the patterned paper and image with silver glitterations and added a sentiment cut using an oval nestie and a scalloped oval nestie and added some ribbon to pull the slider up.

Watermelon Day

For those of you who may not know I have joined the Pennys Card Crafty DT and here is my first project as a member of the DT and our theme this fortnight is Watermelon Day.

I have used this wonderful image from our lovely sponser Digi my world called Brittney-watermelon day and I have coloured her in with my Copics. This type of card is called an octo step card.

I managed to find the watermelon backing paper after doing a google search and cut this to fit my card and then edged with gold glitterations. I also edged the octagon with glitterations.

I have added 4 pieces of card candy from Craftwork Cards, 2 in red and 2 in green to add some detail.

Challenge 73 OSAAT Job/school related

For anyone who did not see my earlier post I am now on the One stitch at a time design team and here is the project I have made for challenge 73 which is school/job related. To take part in the challenge head over to the challenge blog Here

I have made a triangular card which are also known as Teepee cards. all you need is 3 pieces of 6 x 6 card and some backing papers to decorate . Just score each one diagonally once and take one of the pieces of card and overlap with another, lining up the edge of one with the crease in the other. Then decorate. This card can be folded flat for posting and will fit in an A5 envelope. I've used a velcro dot to keep it in shape but you could also use ribbon.

The digi image I have used is by Hope Jacares and is called Teachers Rules which I have coloured in with Copics. I have matted the image on to a scalloped green circle and added a silver peel off in each scallop. The backing papers are from a 6 x 6 Honey and hugs paper pad and the 3 green circles in each corner are called card candy and are available from Craftwork cards.
