Digital Delights and here is my finished project I have made.
Instructions/Details for my sliding pop up card and Basket project
I have used the two lovely digi stamps I won last week for my beach scene card. They are called Rainy Day Dilly Duck and Get Well Circular Sentiment and are both available from Digital Delights.
The card
I wanted to have a go at making a sliding pop up card as I have never made one before and was surprised how easy it was to do. I love the little duck image and thought he looked a little sorry for himself so thought he would be brilliant for a card saying “Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather” as he was also holding an umbrella.

If I could follow the instructions so can anyone else!!! I liked the fact you pull the tab to reveal a secret message if you want one and that the card remains upright when the tab is pulled out.
These are the sizes of card you will need to make this card but I am sure they can be adapted to make bigger or smaller once you see how it all goes together. I would recommend using quite thick card for this if you can.
5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base
5 3/8" x 4" pop up back piece
1 1/2" x 9" sliding wrap
1 1/2" x 2 1/2" pop up piece
1" x 2 3/4" card back prop piece
1/2" x 1 1/2" pop up prop piece
round tab punch (or substitute) for the pull tab
I printed the rainy background from a smiley bears CD I have and cut that to the correct size (pop up back piece 5 3/8 by 4 inches)
I cut the other pieces of card to size, scored and stuck down where told and it just all came together. I added the adorable image last with 3d foam pads after colouring him in with Promarkers in the following colours.
Sky blue (Umbrella) Apricot (umbrella and boots) Lemon (Duck) and Mustard (ducks bill)
I made the pull tab using the Get well sentiment circle. I imported the image into Photoshop elements and removed the pattern already in the circle as I wanted to put the adorable duck in the middle to match the main card, I resized the duck and then inserted into the circle and printed then cut out using my nesties and scalloped nesties then coloured him in with the same colours as the main image.
The matching basket
I then thought how nice it could be to make a matching basket to go with the card , I thought I could put some sachets of Beechams, a little packet of tissues and some lockets or tunes or something similar in each pocket, maybe even a little bottle of brandy to make a hot toddy.
I enlarged the sentiment circle with the duck in the centre to make a 5cm x 5cm circle which I then cut out with nesties and glued onto scalloped orange circles
To make the basket I cut a piece of matching blue card to 21 x 21 cm and scored at 7 and 14 cm both ways to create a 9 square grid. On the four corner squares I scored and folded a diagonal line and pinched the corners together. I cut holes at the top of each corner bit to thread the yellow dotty ribbon through and tied it together so it remained in the correct shape. Then added 2 pieces of ribbon and tied into knots on the top. I shredded some orange florist ribbon and put that inside to bring all the colours used together in the basket.
I added some rainy backing paper to the four sides of the basket then stuck the four sentiment circles on top using 3d foam pads after colouring them in the same colours used on the main image.
If you’ve not made one of these pop up sliding cards before I really recommend you give it a go, I am sure kids would love them. Best thing is they fold flat for postage but have the 3d look once the recipient pulls the tab and mine has stayed up until I have pushed it back down again to flatten it.
