Thank you

Thank you to Clare and Sarah for your opinions. I have decided to put the heart on the photo as both of you said it looked nice, also my hubby said it looked nice there too.

I have now completed this project and wrapped the card in gold tissue paper, I have put ribbon down the middle of the box (turned it portrait first) with a heart on top of that too. I am happy with the result. I would love to see the the reaction of Ju's Mother-in-law reaction when she opens the box as it is such a personal card.

Thanks again for your input girls, its must appreciated, I will post all the photos tomorrow when I have taken the photos in daylight.

Hopefully I can now get on with some more card making and enter some challenges this week.

Advice needed please !!!

Before I show this full golden wedding anniversary project I have almost completed can anyone please give me some advice. I can't make up my mind if to put the wedding details and date in the heart over the wedding photo or whether it would look better on top of the gold box I have made, I have shown it over some ribbon on top of the box but at the moment the box is just gold with nothing on top. My friend was saying it would look nice with the photo but she has told me to do whatever looks right and she hasn't seen any of it yet. If I put it on the photo Ron will lose a bit of his leg in the photo.

Please give me your comments on what you think looks better, thank you to anyone who has the time to do this little favour for me.

I'm working on a very special project

I have not posted any cards over the last couple of days as I have been working on a very special project which my best friend Ju asked me to make. Her in-laws will be celebrating their golden wedding anniversary on the 3rd Feb, that is incredible in this day and age. I was given a few photos and asked to come up with something, I am not a scrapbooker at all, I just make cards and 3d items but I was willing to have a go. I hope to share this project with you tomorrow once I have taken some photos in the daylight. I'd appreciate some feedback if anyone is willing to comment on the post I will do tomorow.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, thanks for looking x

2 Valentine Concertina Tag Cards

I have been asked to make some valentine cards by some of my friends partners for my friends. They saw my other one I posted a short while ago and wanted something similar, Both cards are similar but they have different forever friends bears on them so I thought I would show them in one post.

The card is Bazzill Dotty 12 x 12 Phoenix card, it has embossed dots all over it although this is not very clear in the photos.

The bears are from a valentine decoupage pack. I have used 3d foam pads to 3D them. The ribbon is Anita's and I have cut the white hearts out with a small heart punch. You can get two of these cards out of 1 sheet of the 12 x 12 card. I hope they will be pleased with them.

I am going to enter them into a couple of challenges this week.

The first one is a new challenge blog called Just cute bears Blog here where their theme is one for the girls
The second one is Die cut dreams Blog here where their theme is bears
and the third is Stamp with Sarah Kay Blog here where their theme was to make a valentine/love card.

I have used by rectangle and oval nesties to cut out the image and sentiment which I have used peel off letters for. I added some Fabric Prima flowers with brads in the middle as I thought the top right hand side of card looked a little bare. The image and sentiment are raised with 3D foam pads and the flowers are stuck on with pinflair silicone glue.
I am entering this card into a challenge this week run by Carols Sketch Fun blog here as I have used their lovely sketch this week.

A huge thank you to my new blogging friend Jill

I would like to say a very big thank you to my new blogging friend Jill for being so kind for sending this beautiful, stunning work of art to my poorly daughter. I commented on her blog that the image was fantastic and it reminded me of my poor daughter Freya who has been in bed since last Sunday night with proper flu (it definitely is not just a cold) and she was so kind to send it to Freya to cheer her up whilst she is feeling so poorly.
I love absolutely everything about this card, the layout, the colours and image the flowers, dotty ribbon there is so my detail on this card and the photo does not do this card any justice.

Jill is very talented so if you haven't seen her amazing cards hop over to her blog here I haven't finished looking at it all yet as there is so much inspiration on her blog.

Thanks again Jill, your kind gesture really made Freyas day and put a smile back on her face.

Forever friends challenge - Quick and Simple

The challenge over at Forever Friends this week is "quick and simple".
This is the card I was asked to make for a friend this week. As the baby had already been born for a week or so I wanted to make something quick and simple so I could get it off in the post for her.
The card is A5 size. I have added pink organza ribbon down the left hand side of the card. I stamped the image three times, once on white card for the base layer, second time onto the patterned paper to make the sling look like gingham fabric and the third time on white card so I could decoupage the paw.
I printed the greeting on my pc, I then cut pink card with my scalloped oval nestie for the bottom layer, cut the image out with my oval nestie and using a foam pad stuck the paw on top.
Very quick and simple but hopefully stylish.
I am entering this card into the Forever Friends challenge this week Forever Friends Challenge Blog

A 1st Anniversary card for a gay couple

My sister Louise asked me to make a first anniversary card for her gay friends, I imagine these are quite hard to find in the card shops.

Their wedding day had a red theme so I made this bookatrix card using red, gold and ivory with gold through it card for the three layers. I have used gold link peel offs around the first and third layers. The red ribbon down the centre of the card is edged with gold as is the narrower ribbon I made the bows with. The heart on the left hand side of the card was cut using a Sizzix large heart die. I bought the mulberry groom outfits off ebay some time ago. I have printed my sisters message in gold onto matching card, edged it with gold peel offs and stuck onto the right hand side of the card. I wrapped the card in tissue paper and put in a handmade box . I hope they liked it. Thanks for looking x

I printed off the backing paper, printed off the image sheet and cut out the cricketer and the cricket objects from the sheet and stuck them all onto the backing paper with foam tape. You can't see very well in the photo but on each letter square under the letter are two cricket bats which are on the alphabet section on the craft cd. Thanks for looking x
