My DT card for Pennys Holiday Gifts Challenge

Here is my DT card for our Holiday Gifts challenge over at Pennys. We are sponsored this week by Digi Darla so why not hop over and join in the fun.

The cute image I have used is called Better to Give and is by our wonderful sponsor Digi Darla. I have used both Promarkers and Copics to colour this image as I find the reds in Copics are not as bright red as the Promarkers. I then matted on red card before sticking onto the main card.

I cut a piece of A4 card in half in Portrait mode and then scored some folds and joined together to create this folded card. The backing paper I have used was from a Pepper and friends A4 paper pack, it doesn't really show in the photo but the presents on the paper are actually glossy and glittery.

I added a Merry Christmas sentiment on the front and a couple of snowflakes that I punched out of white glitter card with my Martha Stewart Snowflake punch, I also added 2 snowflakes to the main image panel.

I used a couple of Label 10 nestie dies to cut a message area on the inside of the card too.

My DT card for One stitch at a time challenge 93

Wow I can't believe how quickly another week as flown by.

Here is my DT card for One stitch at a time challenge 93, our theme this week is Anything Goes, a nice easy one so why not hop over and join in the fun Here

The image I have used for this card is by Barb Jenson, its called Parrot and is available HERE. I have coloured the image in with Copics, the colours I have used are Y08, E41, B01, B04, B24, G21, G24.

I have used a card blank from Craftwork cards, I think they are called "On the edge". I folded the top half back on itself.

The paper was a freebie pack of 6 x 6 papers called The country diary of an edwardian lady from Cardmaking and papercraft magazine. I stuck this in the middle of the card and on the front left hand edge of the card and on the bracket edge too which covers the front left hand edge.

I die cut the flourishes with my Memory box flourish die, cut the image with a labels 4 nestie and mat and layered onto larger die cuts using the same die, I also used the same dies to create a message panel in the centre of the card.

I then just added some card candi from Craftwork Cards onto the flourishes using Pinflair.

My Christmas Cracker Gift Box

I saw some card crackers that Bev Rochester had embellished on her blog here for little gifts to go in but saw they cost £7 for 10 which I thought was quite expensive so I thought if I spent some time on the measurements that I am sure I can make some of those but I wanted to be able to use any of my lovely Martha Stewart punches on the ends instead of just the three loops you get on each side of the bought ones that Bev has used.

I know my one doesn't look as luxurious as Bev's but I did make mine from scratch with just a piece of A4 card.

I hope it might give other crafters inspiration to try and make them from scratch and save money at the same time which can't be bad.

Here is my card for our challenge this week over at One stitch at a time The challenge we have set this week is Be Square and we are sponsored by Stitchy bear stamps so why not hop over and join in the fun HERE

I started off by covering a white card blank in brown paper. I then cut some pink paper to 14cm x 14cm and ran through my new Papermania Embossing Folder, its such a pretty pattern.

I cut some brown and pink paper into squares and then ran the pink squares through a Creative Expressions embossing folder before sticking to the brown paper.

Now to the adorable image called Just a Swingin which is by Reeces scrap pieces and is available HERE I printed the image off and layered it on to brown square before sticking to the main card. I have added a flower which has a smaller flower inside to the left hand bottom corner and then added some card candi to the centre.

The ticket was a freebie image from When the scrap hits the fun blog which I layered onto some brown paper and stuck to the card with 3d foam pads to finish of the card.

My DT card for One stitch at a time challenge 90

Here is my project for this weeks One stitch at a time challenge, our theme is "Seeing Red". I decided I wanted to make a card which incorporated some Ferrero Rocher chocolates and this is what I came up with. Why not come over and join us HERE

I started with a piece of A3 card and made the box shape on one end, then folded over the remainder of the card to make an opening card.

The image I have used is by Beary Dust stamps and is available HERE. I coloured the image with Promarkers, adding glitter to the hat and top of the mug, punched Holly leaves out of the corners of the image and added green card behind, then added red gems for the holly berries. I embossed the red card behind the image through a Creative Expressions embossing folder before sticking to the card.

I added acetate to the aperture and edged with gold fine line peel offs and then put 5 yummy Ferrero Rocher in the box part.

My Papercrafter of the year entry

These are the projects that I entered for this years Papercrafter of the Year Competition ran through Papercraft Essentials Magazine. The last date for entries was yesterday and the competition has now been judged according to their website although they haven't announced the winners yet. As I haven't heard anything I am sure I didn't get very far as there are so many super talented crafters out there but I thought it was worth the experience and that you might like to see the projects I entered.

My DT card for Pennys Tie one on Challenge

Here is the card I made for our challenge over at Pennys this week. The challenge is to tie one on so why not hop over and join in the fun HERE. Our sponsor this week is Stretch and Bubbles

The image is a Stretch and Bubbles digi image which I have coloured with Copics. I have also decoupaged the bird and the baubles.

I have used paper from a 6 x 6 paper pad from Trimcraft. I have edged the paper with gold fine line peel offs. I ran some green card through a snowflakes embossing folder then matted onto gold card, then added two red eyelets so I would be able to tie one on for the challenge.

I have used 2 Marianne Creatables bauble dies on gold card and then stuck one onto red paper and one with green. I have tied the red one on by threading ribbon through the two eyelets and through the hole in the bauble and tied in a knot, with the green bauble I have just put some ribbon though the hole and tied and then glued on to the card.

The sentiment is a clear stamp from Wild Rose Studio which I have stuck onto a green scalloped circle and then attached to the card. I have also added 4 gold corner peel offs to the image panel.

My DT project for OSAAT challenge 87

Here is my project for our challenge over at One Stitch at a time this week. Our theme is Use a Digi so why not hop over and join in our challenge HERE

The digital image I have used is called Happy new year by Stitchy and is available HERE. I have coloured this image with Copics and then cut out the image with my labels 10 nesties.

I have made this wine bottle cover using a piece of card 27cms by 27.5cms. I started trying to explain in writing how I did this but felt it might make more sense with this visual template, please note this is not to scale but just to give you an idea of how I made it. It is a jpeg but if you would prefer a PDF please email me and I will email it to you as I cannot add the PDF file to blogger.

First of all I put the shorter side of the card across the top of my score board and then scored a line 3.5cm in from both edges of the card, then turned the card so the longer edge is now along the top and I scored lines at 4.2cm intervals which will give you 6 score lines and leave a small piece of card left over. You need to snip off the shaded area above and below that small piece that is left as that will be your tab to glue the hexagon shape together.

I then measured the middle point of each 3.5 x 4.2cm box (2.1cm) and cut away the shaded areas, leaving 6 triangles above and below the main 6 panels.

I printed two backing papers from The Wine Buffs craft cd and cut 3 pieces of 19.5 x 4 from each sheet of paper before putting some gold peel offs round the edges and then added alternately to each of the 6 panels of the cover.I then stuck double sided tape on the tab and stuck the bottle cover into the hexagon shape.

I got a bottle of wine and put it through the hexagon panels so the bottom triangles were underneath the bottle. I then just used a pencil to draw around the bottom to make a base for the bottle cover. I added 0.5cm to each line to make the hexagon base. I turned the bottle in the carrier upside down, put wet glue on the bottom of the triangles and stuck to the base with the wine bottle still in the cover so it would glue the triangles in the right place and hold them down until the glue set.

I then added some green and red paper to the triangles at the top of the cover and then set an eyelet in each triangle, got some ribbon and threaded through the eyelets and added a corkscrew silver charm before tying into a bow.

I hope that makes sense to everyone who would like to try this, if not please contact me and I will try to help.

Snowman Poop Box aka Tic Tac gift holder

I really enjoyed making this little snowman poop gift box following Whimsie Doodles tutorial HERE and better still the digi snowman and sentiment are freebies. It was really easy to follow and makes a great idea for stocking fillers etc. I didn't have bakers twine as in the tutorial so I just used some gold ribbon. The backing paper for the belly band is from a Peppers christmas party 6 x 6 paper set. I also added some gold circle peel offs to each scallop and added some glitter to the snowman's hat.

My DT card for One stitch at a time challenge 86

Here is my DT card for our new challenge over at One stitch at a time Our theme this week is Christmas, a nice easy one to help you get started on your christmas cards if you haven't started them yet like me!

The image I have used is called Frosty the snowman by Delicious Doodles and is available HERE I have used the following Copics to colour Y26, B000, B05, R02 and E31.

I have made an easel card by using a piece of card 29cm by 14.5 cm and folded in half and then in half again on the top layer. I then cut some blue card to size to fit the base layer and the front panel and then stuck some blue snowflakes patterned paper from a Nitwit Collection called Snow Folk onto the blue card.

I punched a strip of blue card on both sides with my Martha Stewart my punch and stuck to the base layer and then stamped the sentiment which is a clear stamp from Lili of the valley and mat and layered that sentiment circle onto a scalloped blue circle.

I punched the edge of the image with my Martha Stewart Snowflake punch and stuck onto blue card and glued the punched out snowflakes onto the image which has created a nice effect.

I mat and layered the image onto some gold card and then stuck onto the brown pearlescent embossed paper and stuck to the card with 3d foam pads. I then punched 6 leaves with a Woodware punch and embossed some veins into them before sticking them to the card with 3d foam pads.

For the easel stopper I have just used some gold and brown card mat and layered, added Happy Halloween in gold print and added some more gold leaves .
