Pennys Challenge 91 - Sparkle and Shine

I have made this card for my daughter Hayley who will be 21 on 3rd September but have followed our theme over at Pennys Challenges this week
 which is
 Sparkle and Shine
My sparkle is the pearls and my shine is the glossy accents that I have used on the olives to make them look wet and shiny.

We are sponsored this week by

Prize - $10 voucher to use in store

and

Prize - 4 Digis of winners choice

 and
Prize - 4 Digis of winners choice
so hop over and join in HERE if you can this week

I started by making the easel card after punching the edges with a Martha Stewart punch and used some pretty paper from Nitwits Sunshine Laughter set on the base and front panel. I then went round the edge of the paper with some pearl flowers I bought from The Hobby House whilst I was at the Newbury craft show. I also added a single pearl right in the corners of the pretty edging.

The image I have used is called Martini and is by our lovely sponsor Sassy Studio Designs.
I have coloured with the  following Copics to colour the image. E0000, E50, E41, E42, E43, C00, R20, BG11 and G21.

I have also used my alphabet and number set which was designed to be used in an impress machine which were not very poopular so I picked up the alphabet and number set really cheap and just use the dies in my Big Shot.

The digi 21st sentiment circle was a freebie from Annette also known as Nettys Cards, thanks for the freebies Annette!

I have also used Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle nesties and a tag from Fancy Tags 2 to create the stopper on the base which I also added pearls to.

I have added some lacy corners on the base too, these were cut using a Cheery Lynn die.

The patterned papers I have used are digi papers by Pink Petticoat. I have also used a Go Kreate die to cut the image and a Spellbinders die for the name plate and Card Candi by Craftwork Cards down each side.

I decided to make a back to ballet school/lessons card as the creator I was issued for this challenge did not have any back to school images.

The image is by Lil Diva and is called Chloes ballet lesson which I have coloured with Promarkers and Copics. The image can be found in The Stitchy store HERE

The papers I have used are from Nitwit Collections Tippy Toes digi download set.

I have used a Memory box die called Petal Party to create the flowers and added Craftwork Cards Card Candi in the centre and above and below the image. I have also added silver peel offs to each scallop on the scalloped circle.

Sorry for being MIA - What a nightmare week away

Hi to all my lovely followers

I am so sorry I have not got on your blogs this last week, we came out to see my Dad in France last Wednesday and left the kids with my Dad so hubby and I could enjoy a few days away in Paris.

Within an hour of arriving in Paris my Iphone was stolen by two eastern european 10-12 year olds so we spent the whole afternoon in the police station reporting it. After that I felt very unsafe, there were lots of people trying to scam tourists, I have had no way to cheaply contact my son at home in UK or to keep in touch with the kids at my Dads in the Cognac region or to get on my blog or read emails.

We are now back at my Dads minus my Iphone :-( absolutely devastated! I am even looking forward to getting back into the UK, can you believe it! I promise I will be visiting all your blogs as soon as I have caught up with my emails - I had to cancel my sim and change all my passwords etc so my newest emails would not be able to be read, so have not had online access until this evening.
Hugs Julie x

My DT card for challenge 42 over at Forever Friends

Here is my DT card for our new challenge over at Forever Friends Challenge blog.
our theme for this fortnight is
Something New
we are sponsored by Ribbon Girl
and we would love you to come over and join in the fun HERE.

As you can see I went down the new baby route and tried this technique for the first time.

Firstly I made two blank cards measuring 5.5 x 5.5 inches. I added some Forever Friends patterned paper on the front of both of them and some flowery patterned paper on the inside, I then cut some more of the patterned paper I used on the front, to size but before sticking to the inside I cut a large oval out of the centre so I could add a dangly bear on each side using invisable thread and added a pink bow just above the ovals.
I hope you can see the dangling bears ok, you might need to enlarge the photo.

I cut the pretty border on the front with a Dizzy Border die from Die-namics and added to the front of each card tucking over the excess onto the back before sticking both cards onto a piece of pink 5.5 x 11 inch card.

I then made a card slightly smaller to go in the centre so your message is hidden when the card is first opened, and decorated it the same as the main card. I cut the images out with circle nesties and matted onto scalloped circles before sticking to the central card and the front of the 2 cards that were joined together, adding a bow just above the image.

I have also added some pretty pink corners cut using a Cheery Lynn corner die on the very front of the card.
