Mothers Day card for my Mum

Here is the card I have made for my Mum for Mothers Day. I used an A4 sheet of card cut down to 297mm x 200mm and scored in half length ways and then scored 100mm in from the left and 100mm in from the right and then scored the left and right hand square diagonally to make the twisted easel parts at both ends and scored the centre part horizontally. I used pretty papers from a Cute Companions A5 paper pack and matted onto silver mirri card. The chipboard shape on each easel part is from the Cute Companions Chipboard pack which I stuck on with PVA.

The chipboard word Mum was matted onto a nestibility labels die cut and added to card with foam pads to hold the greeting which are just silver peel off letters. The easel parts are held upright by 3 white pearls at each end.

I am entering this card into the following challenge as I need to get back to entering some so I might conquer by crafters block
Pink Gem Anything but square

I'm back again and will be posting a couple of cards later today

I am so sorry that I have not posted anything for a couple of months, after my Husbands Father passed away in January we have had a very strange time and I have suffered from crafters block but I have made a couple of cards this week, one for my mum for Mothers Day and one for a friend who wanted me to make a fishing themed card for her Fathers 65th birthday. I will post both of them later on today. Thanks for looking x

The matching baby card

My sister Louise and her partner Richard are now proud Grandparents of Erica and had asked me to make her a keepsake.
I wanted to do something a bit special so I came up with a card and a matching exploding box and here it is.

Here is the matching card to go with the exploding box - see below post for details/photos of that.

I have used Cutie Pie digi papers and Cutie Pie Decoupage digi download from Pink Gem Designs for the card. I have used my Martha Stewart around the corner punch to create a lace effect on the front page before adding the baby girl image and decoupage. I added Woodware dotty pink ribbon so that the card can be tied up and I made the flowers from pink and white pearlescent paper and a petal punch.

I have left the back of the front cover with just some digi paper so that the parents can add a photo there if they so wish.

I hope they will like these items. I am entering this project into the following challenges
Pink Gem Ribbon and lace
Pile it on Punches

The baby card/box I have made for my sister's partner's grandaughter Erica

My sister Louise and her partner Richard are now proud Grandparents of Erica and had asked me to make her a keepsake.
I wanted to do something a bit special so I came up with a card and a matching exploding box and here it is.

I also used the same Pink Gem digi papers and decoupage for the matching exploding box as my card. First of all I cut the three layers and then using a corner rounder punch round off the corners. I have decorated all the layers with paper and flower ribbon and peel offs. I have also made the little pink paper shoe in the middle with gingham paper and printed her birth details on the bottom of the box. In one of the photos it looks like the layers are a bit wonky it is just where I took the photo as I have not stuck the layers down yet as I would like my sister to be happy with it first.
I have added some baby decoupage on the top and some pink dotty ribbon around the edge of the lid and then added some scroll waste from a Cuttlebug elaborate corner in each corner and added the name Erica with letters cut from my Quickcutz alphabet.

I will post the photos and details of the matching card in a moment as blogger won't allow me to add all the photos on this one post.

I am entering this box into the following challenge
Pink Gem Ribbons and lace
Paperplay Layer it up
Pile it on Punches

Sorry I have not been blogging recently but there has been a death in the family

Sorry I have not been blogging recently but last Sunday we were told the awful news that my Father in Law had had a heart attack in the first week of his 8 week holiday in New Zealand, it turned out he had had a cardiac arrest and as his heart had actually stopped he was likely to be brain damaged, after various tests it was obvious he was not going to be the person he was and there was not much hope of recovery. He never regained consciousness. Sadly he passed away on Friday at 9am UK time. Last week was very difficult as you can imagine and crafting was the last thing on my mind.

Thanks for looking x

I will be back later today with a project I have made for my sister and her partner to give to his Son and Daughter in law on the birth of their little baby girl. I wanted to do something really special. Once I have taken photos I shall post them on my blog x

A tent topper card

Today I have made a tent topper card as required to enter this weeks Karens Doodles Challenge. There is a tutorial on these at Splitcoast Stampers to follow. This style of card is new to me.

I have used red card as my base, printed off some heart paper from a Pink Petticoat download and the other red and pink heart paper was in a Packet of Forever Friends Decoupage.

The image is a Karens Doodles new Digi image called Bigsby in love which I have coloured in with Promarkers. The heart ribbon was from Hobbycraft. I have also used fine line silver peel offs around the edges of the paper. I have added the words "with love" in Silver peel off letters and used a spellbinders die called fancy tags to cut the tag shape with.

I am entering this card into the following challenge

The card measures 14.5 x 14.5 cm I have used some light grey paper, some heart paper and some pearlescent pink card which I ran through my new heart Docrafts embossing folder and then used my Martha Stewart heart punch on the edge. The edges of the paper has been edged with silver fine line peel offs.

I have made the roses by hand using just a punch and glue and some paper that has been turned to pink by using my promarkers but the leaves have been cut using Marianne Designs dies.

A triple panel new baby girl card

Here is a new type of fold to me, its called a triple panel card, the template is created by the wonderful Sheila Weaver Template here

I decided I wanted to have some other images as well as a baby image so thought if I used 3 images I could show a few stages of a baby girl growing up from crawling to toddling to walking so the recipient knew what they could look forward to.

The image on the right panel is a new decoupage baby girl download called Cutie Pie and is available at Pink Gem Designs, the sentiment circles are also on the same decoupage download.
The backing paper is also available as a new digi paper download from Pink Gem. These items have only just been released and all of them are brilliant, I bought all the new digi paper packs and decoupage downloads and am hoping some more will be released.

The other two images are both from Karens Doodles which I have coloured in with Promarkers.

Love Ewe

Here is a card I have made using a freebie image from Designed 2 Delight Digital Stamps and if you enter the challenge you get a free image for the following week. I have only found this challenge blog a couple of days ago and I knew I just had to enter their challenge.

I have adapted a template by Sandy Hulsart by making my card bigger and with a circle instead of the rectangle popping out. I understand that this type of card is called a pop out stepper card, I like finding new types of folds to make cards as it makes them so different from something anyone buys in the card shops.

I have used heart paper from a Pink Petticoat download I bought ages ago. The holographic card was part of a prize I won in a challenge.

I cut the holographic letters spelling Love Ewe with my Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet dies and coloured the image in with Promarkers.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges
Designed 2 delight Digital stamps
Card-ideas something old - something new - new digi stamp, new template - old papers from old download
MAWTT Ring out the old, ring out the new
Paperplay Clean and simple

Happy New year - My first post since 2010

Happy New Year everyone, this is my first post of 2011, I can't believe that I have only just got around to making something for a challenge.

I donated the money required to receive the fantastic template from Cards Etc It was very easy to put together. I used just 1 sheet of A5 card and a piece of 6 x 6 patterned paper from the honey and hugs collection. I brought the chocolate sticks from Lidl, I'd never noticed them before and was worried that I wouldn't find something the right size to fit in it.

I have added pink gems and the letters to spell Freya (as that is my daughters name and I thought she'd love one) using my Wingo Zingo Sizzlit alphabet. I also made a daisy flower using two sizes of X-Cut punches and a gem in the middle and some pink ribbon. There is also a stand at the back so it sits upright, a really fantastic idea, I am so glad I saw the template on their challenge blog.

I entering this project into the following challenges
